Barry Bonds has just been indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice. This is dating back to the federal prosecutors investigation of elite athletes using performance-enhancing drugs. Click on Barry Bonds’ Indictment for more information on this breaking news story.

Although it’s unrelated to the Bonds’ steroid scandal, Sportcity also has a complete list of Barry Bonds career home runs.

2008 MLB Free Agents

November 9, 2007

MLB Free Agency has begun, players and teams are accepting/declining options, and the MLB Free Agent list is growing. I came across a Top 50 MLB Free Agents for 2008, as well as MLB Free Agents by Position. The free agent crop doesn’t look that good for this year.

A Big Night in Baseball Tonight?

July 31, 2007

Could tonight be the night that 3 milestones are reached?  Can A-Rod join The 500 Home Run Club tonight as the Yankees host the White Sox tonight in New York?  Can Tom Glavine finally reach the ever elusive 300 career win plateau?  Is tonight the night that Barry Bonds ties the biggest record of them all, the overall Home Run Record?  Well we might see one or maybe even 2 of those milestones reached tonight, as it is doubtful that Bonds will play tonight against the Dodgers.   Alex Rodriguez seems the most likely to reach his milestone tonight as he faces Jose Contreras, who he has not hit a homer off but he has had 2 home runs in 28 at-bats against the White Sox this year.  As for Tom Glavine, will he have the right stuff tonight in Milwaukee?  As he has struggled in his last 12 starts posting a 5.43 ERA during that stretch. Also going 0-3 in his last 5 road starts with an inflated ERA of 11.96.

A-Rod – 500th home run this week

July 17, 2007

Looks like either the Blue Jays or Devil Rays.

Check the schedule for more details or our 500 Home Run Club Page.

300 Wins

July 16, 2007

Tom Glavine is getting closer to 300 wins. Check out the full list of 300 game winners. Looks like he’ll do it next year but until the 2008 MLB Schedule is released no one can really begin to speculate. Unless he get’s traded we know that Tom Glavine will be playing for the New York Mets. Have a look through all the MLB Team Salaries or go straight to the New York Mets Salaries at Sportscity.com. By the way, there’s always a really good selection of MLB Rumors too..

Steroids Strike the MLB Again

July 6, 2007

Amongst all the controversy about steroids in major league baseball the past few years, it still amazes me that players are still using. Case in point, Detroit Tigers infielder Neifi Perez became the first player suspended for testing positive for a stimulate under the new MLB drug program. Perez was suspended for 25 games for his indiscretions. So it makes you wonder what are these guys doing or thinking in that matter when they are sticking that needle in their ass.
